This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what is and is not allowed when using AutoEco (the
"Service"), operated by `[LEGAL ENTITY NAME]`. It forms part of our
[Terms of Service](terms.md). By using the Service, you agree to this AUP.

## 1. Purpose

The Service helps users keep an honest financial record of what their vehicles cost them. This AUP
protects the integrity of the Service, the accuracy of the data our users rely on, and the fairness
of the plans we offer.

## 2. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Service to:

### 2.1 Mechanical and safety misuse

- Treat any output of the Service as a mechanical diagnosis, inspection result, safety assessment, or
  advice on whether a vehicle is roadworthy;
- Skip, delay, or avoid required maintenance, inspection, or repair because a figure in the Service
  suggests the cost is acceptable.

### 2.2 False or misleading records

- Enter fabricated, estimated-as-actual, or knowingly inaccurate fuel, mileage, expense, or vehicle
  data in order to manipulate your own reports or those of another user;
- Upload receipts or documents that are not yours.

### 2.3 Technical abuse

- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service outside the features and limits we provide;
- Bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, API key restrictions, access controls, or other
  technical protections;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its operation (e.g.,
  denial-of-service activity);
- Use automated tools or scripts to access the Service in ways inconsistent with normal product
  usage, except using the documented API within your plan's limits.

### 2.4 Account and platform abuse

- Create or use multiple accounts to obtain repeated free trials, exceed plan limits, or evade
  enforcement actions;
- Abuse coupons, referral rewards, or affiliate commissions (including self-referrals and
  fraudulent sign-ups);
- Share account credentials or resell access to the Service;
- Use the Service on behalf of another person without their authorization.

### 2.5 Unlawful use

- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- Collect or use data in ways that violate applicable privacy, data protection, or consumer
  protection laws.

### 2.6 Reverse engineering and intellectual property

- Copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of the Service, its design, or its branding, except
  as permitted by law;
- Remove or obscure proprietary notices, or use our trademarks in a misleading way.

## 3. Your Responsibility for Your Data

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for keeping it lawful to store and
process in your jurisdiction. We treat your records as your own; we do not verify the truth of the
figures you enter.

## 4. Enforcement and Consequences

We may investigate suspected violations. Depending on severity and history, we may:

- Issue a warning;
- Throttle or limit usage;
- Suspend the account pending investigation;
- Terminate the account without refund where permitted;
- Withhold or reverse referral/affiliate rewards obtained through abuse;
- Report unlawful conduct to relevant authorities.

We reserve the right to act immediately and without prior notice where necessary to protect the
Service or other users.

## 5. Reporting Violations

To report abuse of the Service, contact `[ABUSE EMAIL]` with relevant details.

## 6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced with reasonable advance
notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
